Tata Motors has officially announced the launch plan for its much-awaited vehicle, the Tata Curvv, in India. The Curvv will come in both electric (EV) and internal combustion engine (ICE) variants, with the EV version taking the lead followed by the diesel-powered Curvv SUV.
While Tata Motors has previously showcased the Curvv EV concept on various occasions in recent years, the production-ready Curvv ICE was recently unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024. Recent reports have confirmed Tata Motors’ launch timeline for the Curvv in the Indian market. Both ICE and EV versions will be available, with the EV version set to launch first, followed by its ICE counterpart.
The Tata Curvv EV is scheduled to debut in the second quarter of FY2025, falling between July and September 2024. Subsequently, the ICE version will hit the market within three to four months after the Curvv EV launch. Following this, the Harrier EV will be introduced as the third model in the lineup.
Based on the Nexon platform, the production-ready Curvv SUV distinguishes itself with a coupe-like roofline and longer wheelbase. Noteworthy features include flush-fitting door handles. Inside, it boasts a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 2-spoke steering wheel, and a layered dashboard reminiscent of the Nexon facelift.
Although both ICE and EV versions of the Tata Curvv are anticipated to borrow powertrains from their respective Nexon counterparts, Tata Motors is yet to provide official confirmation on these details.
