Tata Altroz turns 2, XT & XZ+ diesel DARK variants added

Indian automaker Tata Motors has announced the 2nd year anniversary celebrations of its Altroz hatchback, keeping its ‘New Forever’ promise. For this occasion, Tata Motors has expanded the #Dark Edition, diesel-powered Altroz lineup by adding the XT and XZ+ trims. Launched in July 2021, the #Dark Edition Altroz has received an overwhelming response from customers with requests to extend its trims. Tata Motors has opened the bookings for the two new trims, with the XT costing INR 7.96 lakh (ex-showroom).

2022 Tata Altroz Dark Edition: Design Details 

With the expansion of the Altroz Dark Edition’s diesel lineup, the premium hatchback retains the unique exterior elements. These include the #DARK mascot on the new XT trim along with the signature ‘Cosmo Black’ exterior colour scheme. Additionally, the premium hatchback also gets a dark-tinted finish on the 16-in alloy wheels and the front humanity line. With black trim surrounding the window panels, the Altroz Dark Edition sports smoked projector headlamps with LED DRLs and taillights.

2022 Tata Altroz Dark Edition: Technical Specs & Features 

Tata Motors offers the Altroz Dark Edition with 3 engine options and a single 5-speed manual gearbox as an option. The standard 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated, three-cylinder petrol engine produces 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. The second is the 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, turbo-petrol motor with 110 PS of power and 140 Nm of torque. Finally, the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine produces 90 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque.

In terms of interiors and features, the Altroz Dark Edition gets a premium dark-themed leatherette upholstery with blue decorative stitching. Additionally, the premium hatchback features a Premium Granite Black interior theme inside the cabin with a metallic gloss black mid-pad. The top-spec XZ+ variant of the Altroz Dark Edition now gets additional safety features like Brake Sway Control and TPMS. Other features of the Altroz Dark Edition include a rear armrest, a height-adjustable driver seat, and a rear headrest.

Other News 

In January 2022, Tata Motor launched the Dark Edition of its flagship Safari SUV in India, expanding the DARK portfolio. Joining the Harrier Dark, Nexon Dark, Nexon EV Dark, and Altroz Dark, the Safari Dark costs INR 19.05 lakh (ex-showroom). The flagship SUV gets the Oberon Black exterior paint with #Dark mascots on the fender and the tailgate.
