Tata Motors has announced that the brand has crossed the 100,000 production mark on the Tata Altroz. The celebratory milestone unit rolled off the production line in Pune. Tata also revealed that the brand achieved the extraordinary breakthrough within only 20 months of its launch. In FY2022, Tata also recorded that the Altroz reached the top 2 position in the premium hatchback category. The premium hatchback also holds a market share of more than 20%. The brand also revealed that the car achieved a maximum sales of 7550 units in March 2021.
The Tata Altroz hatchback comes with a starting price of INR 584,900 ex-showroom. The top-spec Altroz iTurbo with a turbo-petrol powertrain comes with a price tag of INR 935,900 ex-showroom. In the diesel avatar, the Altroz comes with a price tag of INR 959,400 ex-showroom.
Powering the Tata Altroz 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine. The engine produces 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. The Tata Altroz iTurbo comes with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. The turbo-petrol engine produces 110 PS of power and 140 Nm of torque. The Tata Altroz also comes with a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine. The oil motor produces 90 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. The brand currently only offers a 5-speed manual transmission. The brand does not offer an automatic gearbox on the Tata Altroz.
The Tata Altroz is the first Tata product that came with the ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) Architecture. The hatchback comes with a striking design and athletic bodywork. The car comes with projector headlamps, wraparound taillamps, and 16-inch alloy wheels. The Altroz also comes with features such as a push-button start-stop, a parametric alarm system, a wearable key, a central 17.78cm touchscreen infotainment system with What3Words connected features and a digital-analogue instruments cluster display.
The Tata Altroz comes with a full 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme). During the crash tests, the Altroz scored 16.13 points out of 17 points in the adult occupant safety department. In the Child Occupant Safety department, the Altroz scored 29 points out of 49 points. The Altroz comes with dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, Corner Stability Control, Reverse Parking Camera, ISOFIX, Parking Assistance, etc.
