Tata Motors has officially revealed the name of their upcoming premium hatchback. First revealed as the 45X concept at the 2018 Auto Expo, this new premium hatchback when launched will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 & Honda Jazz. The 45X concept when launched will be called the ‘ALTROZ’.
Previous rumours suggested that this car could be called the Aquila, but that has been put to rest now. Also, Tata Motors has officially revealed that the production ready version of the 45X hatchback will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show 2019.
The name Altroz has taken inspiration from the characteristics of Albatross. The brand claims that the new Altroz hatchback will be agaile, fast and efficient along with best-in-class space.
The Tata Altroz will be based on the new ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) Architecture. This modular platform will also allow for more vehicles to be built on this chassis. The Altroz is based on the IMPACT 2.0 design language and the concept model looked very, very promising.
