It is VW's latest product that is targeted for the mass market. Platform Based on the proven MQB-A0 platform, the Tera is designed with the brand's latest design philosophy, giving it an outlook similar to elder sibling cars like the T-ROC and somewhat of Tiguan. While its dimensions are not revealed yet, globally, it will be longer than the 4-meter mark. The same platform is shared by the Polo hatchback in the global markets, and even the sibling brand Skoda has used it on its new entry, Kylaq, in India. This also indicates that VW can bring it to India soon, and it can be positioned alongside the Kylaq with similar engine options. Design Speaking design-wise, the front fascia looks familiar to the Tiguan as it gets a wide smiling outlook with LED lights, a chrome stripe, and a big honeycomb design grille. Interestingly, VW has not included foglights on it, as it does on the other models. The side profile is surely interesting due to the curvy front and rear fenders with bold shoulder lines. The top-spec variant will get 17-inch alloy wheels, while we speculate that the lower variants will get steel wheels with hubcaps. The rear profile has a lifted boot design and sleek LED lights that are well meshed into the big rear bumper with a skid plate. Cabin and features On the inside, it features an identical design to the VW ID as it gets a 10-inch floating infotainment screen, a digital cockpit similar to the Tiguan, and cycle parts from other VWs, like the steering wheel, gear knob, etc. Engine and transmission As of now, its engine details are unknown, but the online reports suggest that it will get the 1.0 TSI engine with the manual and automatic transmission options. The Tera SUV can be tailored well for the Indian market if the pricing is kept aggressive like the Skoda Kylaq.
