Electric Force Traveller - What to expect? At the Auto Expo 2020, Force Motors showcased an electric concept of its popular mid-size bus, the Traveller. Now, it appears that the final road testing for it has begun, as the latest spy shots pour in from Pune. Spotted recently, the test mule of the Traveller EV is seen completely uncovered and production-ready. Additionally, it has an identical design to the ICE model, as the key highlights include the iconic tail lamps and the four rear wheels. The side profile is different than the ICE model due to the closed windows and the entrance gate which is positioned behind the front passenger seat. The closed windows suggest that it is equipped with air conditioning. Another interesting feature to note is the presence of a digital screen, which is probably to inform the passengers regarding the destination and route. The cabin on the test model had 16+D seating, which includes 6 side-facing seats. Speaking of the powertrain, it is likely to be equipped with a big battery pack that will be mated to a 161 bhp (120 kW) electric motor mounted on the rear axle. Additionally, it will support rapid charging and the driving range is expected to be 160 km per charge. Other critical hardware features include all-four disc brakes, a dead rear axle, a live front axle, a mechanical hand brake, and R15 radial tyres of size 215/75. The pricing for the diesel Traveller starts from Rs 14.90 lakh and reaches up to Rs 22.63 lakh (ex-showroom). The Electric Traveller will be positioned somewhere between Rs 18-22 lakh. Considering that the test model looks almost ready for sales, we assume that Force Motors will launch it soon in India. It is available with different body styles, designed as per the variety of requirements of the cab operators.
