Switch Mobility has showcased the EiV7 city bus at the Auto Expo 2023. The smart city commuter was unveiled by Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India. The bus has been designed to meet the requirements of modern urban cities and its last mile connectivity for metro feeders and staff / school bus. Also on display was the Switch 22, India’s first double decker electric bus.
Switch EiV 7 smart city commuter : More Details
The Switch EiV 7 gets a futuristic design with large windows, rounded edges and circular headlamp clusters. It comes with many features that are customer-centric. The bus comes with low floor, luxurious seating and in-vehicle connectivity options. The bus claims to offer a superior and comfortable ride.
It comes with a 24+D seating configuration with customization. The bus rides on air suspension and gets pneumatic disc brakes on all wheels.
The EiV 7 gets a modular battery with advanced NMC chemistry that has been specially designed for use in India. The bus is also equipped with Switch iON technology, which offers remote, real-time diagnostics and monitoring.
While exact powertrain details are not yet revealed, the drive performance is said to be exceptional and the total range on a single charge is claimed to be up to 250 km. The bus also supports dual gun charging. The motor is said to be of permanent magnet AC synchronous type with a peak torque of 1100 Nm.
Switch EiV 22 Open top bus : More Details
The company also displayed an open top version of its EiV 22 double decker bus. It get wide front and rear doors, twin stairs and seating for 65 passengers. It is powered by a 231 kWh liquid cooled high density NMC chemistry battery pack which offers a maximum range of 250 km for intra-city usage pattern.
