Svitch MotoCorp has revealed the CSR 762 electric motorcycle. The Ahmedabad-based electric two wheeler start-up plans to launch this bike in less than 90 days. The company has also revealed a timeline of early 2024 to put the aforementioned motorcycle on the road. Alongside the reveal, the company also showcased the bike’s design as well as their technology patents.
Svitch has invested INR 100 crore towards the development of this electric two wheeler. The company further says the motorcycle has been designed to meet the highest standards of performance and quality as well.
In terms of looks, the CSR 762 gets a modern futuristic design with a full fairing. The riding posture is upright while the bike’s LED DRLs stand out as well.
In terms of powertrain, the Svitch CSR 762 comes with a 3 kW PMS motor. This motor has an output of 10 kW or 13.4 BHP @ 3,800 rpm. Meanwhile, the peak torque stands at 165 Nm with a continuous rating of 55 Nm. All this is sufficient to give the electric motorcycle a top speed of 120 km/h.
This e-bike comes with dual 3.6 kWh battery packs. These lithium-ion units can be swapped as well for faster recharge times. The maximum range on these is a claimed 160 km. Back in April 2023, the range was claimed to be 120 km, but now has been increased by 40 km.
Other features of the Svitch CSR 762 include a mobile charger, covered mobile holder and a 40-litre boot space.
Svitch is planning to build the bike in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The company is aiming to align its manufacturing with the Government of India’s make-in-India initiative. While the company has not yet revealed any further details like localisation content, production plans, expansion and more, it hopes to start sales with four showrooms initially. These will be located in the cities of Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
