Suzuki Motorcycles India has published a video on its official YouTube channel. The video teases the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE adventure motorcycle which will be “Coming Soon”. This leads us to believe that the launch of the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE is imminent in the Indian market. While the Japanese manufacturer does not enlighten us with the launch date and details, speculation is that the bike will arrive in Suzuki’s Big Bikes portfolio in the coming weeks.
Earlier this year, the brand also showcased the V-Strom 800DE at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 in Delhi. Upon launch, the adventure motorcycle will compete with the Honda Transalp 750, BMW Motorrad F 850 GS and the Triumph Tiger 900 in India. The V-Strom 800DE will also become the third motorcycle in Suzuki’s Big Bikes portfolio in India after the Suzuki Katana and the Hayabusa.
Suzuki V-Strom 800DE – Technical Specifications
Powering the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE is a new 776cc parallel-twin cylinder engine. The liquid-cooled DOHC, 4-valve-per-cylinder engine produces 83 Bhp of power and 78 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS). The brand has achieved a torquey, powerful and smooth power delivery using a 270-degree crankshaft design.
The cross plane crank also delivers an engine note similar to that of a V-twin engine. The engine also comes with a Suzuki Cross Balancer, the first biaxial primary balancer on a production motorcycle. The patented balancer with 90-degree mechanism suppresses vibration and also allows engineers to design a lighter powerplant that is more compact from front to rear.
