Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. releases its sales report for July 2021. The company mentioned that it sold a cumulative 73,083 units for the given period. The figure breaks down as 60,589 units for the domestic market and 12,494 units for exports. Compared to July 2020 figures, there is a growth of 92.8 per cent in the domestic market and 317.7 per cent in exports. The overall monthly year-on-year growth stood at 112 per cent. The last two months were quite challenging for the auto industry, as the sales were severely hit due to the 2nd wave of the Covid-19. With the gradual unlocking process, the demand is again picking up momentum.
Suzuki Hayabusa is one of the most loved motorcycles in the country, ever since it made its entry. And it is no different for the latest third-generation model as well. When the bookings opened for the motorcycle in India, the white colour shade got sold out within 24 hours of the booking opening. The current iteration of the bike has a substantial amount of changes, both mechanically and aesthetically. Suzuki has also equipped the motorcycle with a new electronics package. This enables a host of new features like different riding modes, cruise control, launch control, active speed limiters and more. This powerful motorcycle retails at INR 16.44 lakh (ex-showroom).
Suzuki also looks to enter the race given the growing popularity of electric vehicles in India, especially in the two-wheeler segment. The chances are high that the new electric scooter will have similar underpinnings as that of Burgman Street. As per the patent design, the scooter will have a large battery pack, thus utilising the maximum under-seat space. The scooter will have air-cooling technology along with an intake and exhaust fan system to keep the battery pack cool. We can expect this scooter to return a riding range of 100 km under a single charge as per industry standards.
