Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL), the two-wheeler subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation has posted its sales report. The company registered an overall sales figure of 63,912 units in December 2022. The company sold a total of 40,905 units in the domestic market. Meanwhile, the export figure stood at 23,007 units in December 2022. For the month of December 2022, the company recorded overall sales of 63,912 units. This translates to a tremendous year-on-year monthly growth of 25 per cent as compared to the same month last year. In fact, Suzuki’s export figure of 23,007 units from India is the highest-ever monthly export sales reported by the company to date.
All New Burgman Street EX Is Here
Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd. launched the All New Burgman Street EX in December 2022 for the Indian market. The All New 125cc premium scooter comes with the Brand New Suzuki Eco Performance Alpha (SEP-α) engine, Engine Auto Stop-Start (EASS) system and Silent Starter System. The company has been steadily adding to the scooter segment. Currently, it has four products in its portfolio. This includes Suzuki Access 125, Suzuki Burgman Street, Suzuki Avenis, and Suzuki Burgman Street EX. This month also saw the company organising Hayabusa Day. This was an experiential Ride-out for the Suzuki Hayabusa owners in India.
Suzuki India’s Potential Launches For 2023
For quite some time, Suzuki has strayed away from bringing their big bikes to the Indian market. But now things will most likely change with the debut of the Katana this year. Alongside the Katana, Suzuki could also bring in the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE. The launch might happen sometime around September 2023, with a price tag of around INR 11 lakhs. Then we could also see Suzuki launch the GSX-8S. This will retail around the price tag of INR 9 lakh. The launch could happen sometime in September 2023. There are talks around that Suzuki is planning to launch the Access 125 EX. This could come with a price tag of around INR 1.10 lakh. The launch will happen sometime around April 2023.
