Suzuki has revealed the 2021 updated Burgman 400 maxi-scooter in Europe. The maxiscooter comes with a new Euro5 compliant engine that features new innards, new equipment for 2021, such as the instruments cluster and new and improved security systems. The updated Suzuki Burgman will be available in Matte Silver, Matte Black, and Iron Grey colour options with Blue rims and will be available from European authorised Suzuki dealerships starting this summer.
Powering the 2021 Suzuki Burgman is a liquid-cooled 400cc single-cylinder 4-stroke DOHC engine that now comes with a new twin-plug cylinder head with simultaneous ignition timing that improves the fuel combustion and consumption. The new engine also comes with an improved ignition timing, resulting in an easier engine startup and stable idle. The new ignition timing also reduces the possibility of engine knocking in the upper speed range and the new optimization has led to a higher top speed. The brand has also employed a secondary air pathway to conform to the Euro5 standards.
The new engine features new pistons, new camshafts with revised cam profiles, new injectors with 16 holes to produce finer air/fuel atomisation and introduce increased air agitation, improving the combustion efficiency. The new engine also comes with a new exhaust system with a new catalytic converter. The number of catalytic converters in the exhaust system have also been increased from one to two and further help in purifying the air. The engine now comes with a one-touch starter eliminating the need to hold the starter button down.
The 2021 Suzuki Burgman 400 comes with a new traction control system that enables the rider to brisk away with ease even in slippery conditions. The new 36 gram lighter ABS unit also help the rider stop the 2021 Burgman 400 safely. The maxi-scooter also retains its practicality and offers a 42-litre underseat storage space along with 6.3-litre storage in the front compartment which comes with 12V socket for charging electronic devices.
The Burgman 400 also features Suzuki’s Advanced Immobiliser System (SAIS) and a magnetic cover on the ignition barrel as well as a chain gate allowing the rider to pass a chain lock through the scooter’s bodywork, around its frame and then around an immovable object such as a pole for additional security. The scooter also comes with all-LED lighting for excellent visibility at night, a plush seat with adjustable lumbar support and a cutaway footboard that helps get feet flat on the floor.
