Suzuki rolls out 5 millionth two-wheeler in India

Suzuki Motor Corporation celebrated the brand’s 100th Year Anniversary, this year and the Indian two-wheeler subsidiary of the Japanese company, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL) has announced that the brand has rolled out its 5 Millionth vehicle from its manufacturing facility in Kherki Dhaula, Gurugram. The 5 Millionth celebratory vehicle is the much-popular quarter-litre motorcycle Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 that was recently launched in its BS6 avatar. 

The fully-faired BS6 Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 was launched in India over two months ago priced at INR 174,000 ex-showroom, Delhi and with just INR 900 over the base price tag customers can avail the Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP edition which is priced at an INR 174,900 ex-showroom, Delhi. The Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP edition comes with Metallic Triton Blue paint and MotoGP inspired race-livery. The standard model is also offered in Metallic Matte Black and Metallic Matte Platinum Silver/ Metallic Matte Black colour options. 

Powering the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is a BS6 compliant 249cc single-cylinder 4-stroke 4-valve SOHC fuel-injected engine that produces 26.5 Ps and 22.2 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed transmission. The Suzuki Gixxer 250, which is a naked streetfighter model also shares the same quarter-litre engine.

Suzuki has employed an innovative oil-cooling system on the quarter-litre engine called Suzuki Oil Cooling System (SOCS) that cools the engine by routing engine oil through the engine cylinder and cylinder head for higher cooling performance enabling sustained high RPM operation with minimal power loss due to heat. The brand has also employed weight-reduction and friction-reduction technologies derived from its racing experience in the coveted MotoGP. 

SMIPL also launched the BS6 compliant 155cc engines on the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF. The naked roadster Gixxer has been launched at the price of INR 1,11,871 ex-showroom, Delhi, the Gixxer SF demands an INR 1000 premium over the naked roadster and is priced at INR 1,12,871 ex-showroom, Delhi and the MotoGP edition Gixxer SF which comes in a ‘Metallic Triton Blue’ paint scheme and body graphics is priced at 1,22,900 ex-showroom, Delhi. 

SMIPL has also announced that the brand concluded the fiscal with a growth of 5.7% over the  FY2018-19
