Suzuki launches BS6 Burgman Street scooter for INR 77,900

Suzuki has launched the BS6 compliant variant of the Burgman Street scooter in India at prices starting from INR 77,900. The 125cc maxi scooter will now be available in a new matte red body colour along with 3 more shades which include matte grey, pearl white and matte black. The Burgman Street is the most expensive scooter in the Suzuki stable at the moment, but Piaggio will soon launch the Aprilia SXR 160 which will better the Burgman Street in terms of performance to become the most sporty scooter to be available for the masses.

Powering the 2020 Suzuki Burgman Street which is BS6 compliant is a 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 4-stroke motor now with fuel-injection producing 8.7 PS of peak power @ 6750 RPM and 10 Nm of peak torque @ 5500 RPM. The engine is matched to an automatic belt drive and the motor comes with the Suzuki Eco Performance Technology for better mileage. Suzuki claims that the new FI system will help the scooter start easily on cold days and will also result in smooth power delivery along with better fuel combustion. Suzuki uses an all-aluminium construction for this engine. For the 2020 BS6 model, the Suzuki Burgman Street also comes with a engine kill switch. The Suzuki Easy Start System will also make the scooter much more silent during start / stop situations, enhancing the riding experience.

For a premium touch, the Suzuki Burgman Street comes with alloy wheels, small front windscreen, telescopic front forks, full digital speedo console, chrome accents, smoked effect on the glass area, LED tail lamps, LED DRLs, long seat, etc. For safety, Suzuki offers combi brake system with the Burgman Street and there is also a disc brake on the front wheel. The scooter has a glove box below the handlebar where you also get a charging socket.

At the Auto Expo 2020, Suzuki also revealed the MotoGP livery with Ecstar branding on the Burgman Street scooter. There is no news yet if this would make a market debut soon.
