Suzuki has announced the launch of their popular Gixxer models for 2018. The refreshed 2018 Gixxer & Gixxer SF motorcycles will now be available across all Suzuki dealerships starting from INR 80,928 & INR 90,037 respectively. Not much has changed on the motorcycles mechanically, but Suzuki has only refreshed the livery on both the models.
The new 2018 Suzuki Gixxer & Gixxer SF come with inspiration from the ECSTAR logo on Moto GP race bikes and sport the Metallic Triton Blue shade on the Gixxer SF. Also, the 2018 motorcycles get a new colour – Candy Sonoma Red / Metallic Sonic Silver along with the existing Glass Sparkle Black.
Having set a benchmark as a fun motorcycle in the segment, the Suzuki Gixxer & Gixxer SF have been churning decent sales numbers since launch. Powered by the 155cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, SEP engine, the Gixxer & Gixxer SF produce 14.8 PS of power and 14 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed gearbox.
The faired sibling, the Gixxer SF also comes with an optional ABS system.
Suzuki reveals that the Gixxer & Gixxer SF have been ranked highest in the upper executive motorcycle segment for 3 consecutive years.
However, it still remains to be seen if Suzuki will bring an exciting quarter-litre motorcycle to out market. Yamaha has eventually introduced multiple products in the 250cc – 300cc category while KTM dominates this class. Which Suzuki sportsbike would you be interested to see on the Indian streets?
