Suzuki has launched a new limited edition of the Jimny SUV in the Latin American market. The brand calls it the Jimny Sierra 4Sport and is essentially a more off-road-focused version of the standard Jimny. As such, it gets quite a few changes for better off-roading capabilities and to stand out from the standard Jimny. Apart from the cosmetic changes and feature additions, the powertrain remains the same. Suzuki will sell only 100 units of the Jimny Sierra 4Sport in the Brazilian market.
The limited edition Jimny Sierra 4Sport is definitely not coming to India. However, Maruti Suzuki is readying a 5-door version of the SUV for a few markets, including India. A test mule of the 5-door version of the Jimny was recently spotted in Europe. The new version of the SUV will likely make its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo in India.
Suzuki Jimny Sierra 4Sport – Highlights
The limited edition of the SUV now gets a snorkel which the brand claims improve its water wading capacity. Suzuki says, with the snorkel, the Sierra 4Sport has a water wading capacity of 600 mm. On the sides, it gets a matte black rock slider to protect the bodywork. The slider also doubles up as a side-step. It also gets a blacked-out roof with a new roof carrier with four hooks. Two of these are in the front and the other two at the back. The addition of new skid plates also reduces the approach and departure angles. The approach angle is down from 37 to 31 degrees. At the same time, the departure angle is down from 49 to 40 degrees.
Visually, the Sierra 4Sport gets a new grey colour option, new side colour mouldings and 4Sport badging and graphics. There are also blue accents all over the exterior and interior. The off-road-focused limited edition SUV also rides on new 15-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli MTR off-road tyres.
On the inside, the changes are more subtle. It gets new seats with blue contrast stitching and 4Sport embossing on the front seats. The passenger side of the dashboard also gets a 4Sport badge. The only other change is the addition of blue accents on the AC vents and gear-shifter.
