Suzuki has issued a recall for a total of 6,928 units of the GSX-S750, GSX-R1000R & the V-Strom 650. While this is a global figure of the number of motorcycles recalled, in India, only the GSX-S750 & GSX-R1000R have been recalled. There is no mention of the recently launched V-Strom 650 XT ABS being recalled.
This recall is affecting motorcycles made in 2017-18.
The problem is with the O-ring set of the fuel pump. The sealing might be faulty and hence as a precautionary measure, the bikes have been recalled. Suzuki will replace the ring set on all bikes affected for free of cost. Also, the replacement part will have a better design. The O-Ring set might have been twisted during installation, which has led to it becoming faulty. This might result in a fuel leak and can be a possible risk for fire.
