Suzuki GSX-S300 in the making?

A design patent not filed by Suzuki directly, but the Chinese motorcycle manufacturer Haojue has filed this design patent for a 300cc motorcycle which is currently dubbed as the HJ300. The interesting bit is that Haouje is a Suzuki partner in the Chinese market, and this product could be rebadged as a street naked motorcycle for the Suzuki stable.

For reference, Haouje builds the GW250 (known to us as the Inazuma) & the GSX-250R in China. So, it can be a possibility that this HJ300 from Haouje is launched as a Suzuki GSX-S300 in markets globally.

Rumours have it that this bike will be powered by a 299cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor producing around 30-35 PS of power and 25 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox. Patent design reveals a USD front fork, rear monoshock, petal disc brakes, LED headlamp & tail lamp, sharp styling for the fuel tank, split seats and a medium sized exhaust.

This bike could also be an official replacement to the GW250 Inazuma, which tanked in nearly every market thanks to its dated styling.

We can expect the Suzuki GSX-S300 to be revealed at one of the upcoming international motor shows in 2018. But the question remains, will India get a premium motorcycle from Suzuki soon? The brand has moved their focus to the premium segment, so lets wait and watch if we get something exciting in the 200-300cc category anytime soon.
