Suzuki Motorcycle Pvt. Ltd. announces the sales report for the month of April 2021. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer sold a cumulative 77,849 units in the given month. This breaks down as 63,879 units in the domestic market and 13,970 as exports. The company registered an overall 18 per cent year-on-year growth when compared to April 2019. Given the rising cases of COVID-19 in the country, Suzuki still managed to put on a great sales figure. The Y-O-Y domestic growth stood at 12 per cent while export volume grew by 57.50 per cent which is quite impressive. The top sellers in the scooter segment include Access and Burgman and the Gixxer series in the motorcycle segment.
Suzuki’s first month of the new financial year turned out to be really special. The first batch of the updated 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa got sold out in just 2 days. The company allotted 101 units in the first batch. As per reports, the white colour of the superbike sold out in less than 24 hours. The second generation of the Hayabusa was also a massive hit in the Indian market. The 2021 updated version comes with a host of new changes. This includes changes to both the mechanicals and styling. Recently, the company revealed the official accessories for the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa.
To help encourage its customers to stay at home, Suzuki launched a new initiative. Under the ‘Suzuki at Your Doorstep Program’, the company will offer multiple services directly at the customers’ home. This will enable the customers to buy, test ride and opt for sales service directly from the comfort of their home. The customers can also directly call the toll-free number 1800-121-7996 to avail of the doorstep services. In other news, SMIPL recalled Suzuki Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 to fix an excessive vibration problem. A total of 199 units manufactured from August 12, 2019, to March 21, 2021, are a part of this recall.
