In a bid to promote electric vehicles for a greener environment, the government has decided to provide subsidies directly to the customer. Every customer who buys an electric product, be it a scooter or a car, he / she will be entitled to a 15% subsidy on the MRP which will be directly transferred to his / her bank account within two months from the date of purchase.
Apart from the dealer discounts, and subsidies directly provided to manufacturers, this direct subsidies to the customers seem to be a better move with the customer connecting to this plan more effectively. Customers will also be entitled to 50% less road tax and zero VAT on purchase of EVs.
More than 45,000 scooter owners have gained from this direct subsidy plan.
Seems like the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan 2020 (NEMMP) is on the right path with these decisions increasing the customer interest in EVs.
