One of the largest manufacturers in the world is now getting ready to bring the 4th-generation of their most popular hatchback, the Honda Jazz. The Jazz in some markets is also sold as the Honda Fit. This 2020 model of the Honda Jazz / Fit was spied testing in Europe with a fresh new design.
The 5-door compact hatchback will see some major changes in its 2020 avatar. A new grill design and an all-new headlight and tail light design is among the most striking changes seen on the new generation Jazz, as of now. The new front fascia will include a large 3-dimensional projector headlamp, with daytime running lights and integrated turn signal indicators. The tail-light on the other hand has a more slender design, with LED optic tube illumination and is most likely to have LED stop lights. The front bumper will have large air intakes on the outer edges. The ‘A’ pillar looks slender with its signature styled quarter glass window. Honda may offer a rugged, cross-over styled model with body cladding on the doors and more pronounced wheel arches other than the standard model.
A glimpse of the interior shows a large touchscreen infotainment system with silver bezels, a recessed instrument panel and a new redesigned steering wheel. The climate control knobs seems to be of a new design with 3 large dials.
The Honda Jazz / Fit is rumored to to share its powertrain with the Honda Insight which has a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, electric hybrid engine which has a combined power output of 153 PS mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) and will deliver a fuel economy of 23.3 kmpl. The Honda Jazz / Fit may also be offered with a conventional gasoline powered engine, or may be, going by the future of automobiles, it could be launched as a hybrid only.
On the other hand a Jazz / Fit EV may be in development in partnership between Honda and Contemporary Amperex Technologies., (CATL) a Chinese battery conglomerate which will deliver a range of approximately 300 km on a single charge, more than the Nissan Leaf but less than the Tesla Model 3.
