Skoda’s new Kylaq SUV will get single pane sunroof

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Skoda recently announced that the brand has named their upcoming compact-SUV “Kylaq”. The brand also revealed that the Skoda Kylaq will make its debut in 2025. However, a test mule of the Kylaq has appeared on the internet revealing some more details about the car. In the past too, prototypes were seen being tested on Indian roads, however, this picture from a top angle reveals a new detail of the Kylaq.

Spyshots

According to spy shots, the Skoda Kylaq is likely to come with a single pane sunroof. This sunroof could be seen on test mule with camouflage covers and if sources are to be believed the mule was spotted on the outskirts of Pune. This could mean that the brand is under the process of homologating the Kylaq in the Indian market as Pune is home to the ARAI. Speculation is that the single pane sunroof is likely to be offered on the higher variants of the Kylaq. In addition to this, the Kylaq is also likely to come with roof rails as well as a shark fin antenna.

Platform and Engine

The Skoda Kylaq is likely to come with the company signature design language and could draw some inspiration from the Kushaq. However, the Kylaq is likely to come with distinguishing elements on the front as well as the rear. The brand also recently revealed that the Kylaq will be underpinned by the MQB-A0-IN which is the same platform that is used for the Kushaq and the Slavia. Furthermore, speculation is that the Kylaq will also get the same 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol mill from the Kushaq. The brand is also likely to offer the Kylaq with a manual as well as an automatic transmission option.
