Skoda’s new compact electric SUV will offer 560 km range

Skoda in the past announced that the brand is planning to launch a new compact SUV in the Indian and international markets. In addition to the ICE Compact SUV the company will also introduce an electric powertrain, revealed Skoda at the end of February 2024.

Now, Skoda has teased the all-new Elroq Compact BEV which is set to become the brand’s first electric car in the segment. In addition to this, the brand also revealed that the Skoda Elroq will make its debut in September 2024.

Skoda Elroq – Design

The all-electric Elroq features a design for both outdoor adventures as well as a compact shape and small turning circle for the urban environment. The electric alternative will also come with an all-wheel-drive option. The Skoda Elroq will also feature a Tech-Deck face instead of the typical Skoda grille. The Tech Deck face also conceals sensors such as the radar and the front camera. The Elroq will also come with Skoda lettering on the bonnet and will become the first car in its line-up to do so. The car also gets slim upper light strips for the position lights and indicators along with daytime running lights. The car will also come with 36-unit LED Matrix beam headlights and C-shaped LED taillights.

Skoda Elroq – Powertrain and Range

Skoda has revealed that the Elroq will come with four variant options and three powertrain options. The Elroq 50, 60, 85 and 85x ranging between 125 kW to 220 kW. The Elroq 50 gets a 55 kWh battery and 125 kW electric motor. The Elroq 60 comes with a 63 kWh battery and 150 kW electric motor and both these models are capable of reaching a top speed of 160 Kmph. The Elroq 85 and 85X comes with 82 kW battery, where the 85 features a 210 kW motor and the 85X comes with all-wheel-drive and an output of 220 kW. The Elroq 85 and 85X also come with a top speed of 180 Kmph and the capability to deliver a range of 560 km on a single charge.

The brand also announced that the Elroq is the beginning of Škoda’s new BEV campaign which will see the launch of 6 battery electric vehicles over the coming years.
