Skoda Yeti facelift testing on Indian soil

Skoda first revealed the Yeti facelift to the Indian customers at the 2014 Auto Expo held in Noida earlier this year. An image shared by Autocar India suggests that Skoda has started testing the Yeti facelift on Indian roads.

The facelift gets significant styling changes to the car inside-out. The major change being a wider front grille now similar to the Octavia & Superb. It gets new bi-xenon headlamps along with LED DRLs. Also, the large round foglamps adjacent to the headlamps have now been replaced by more conventionally placed rectangular units. Other exterior changes include a redesigned front bumper, new bonnet, new tail lamps, a reworked tailgate and rear bumper. Changes on the side profile, if any, are not noticeable.

On the inside, a different colour scheme denotes that this is the facelift version. Also in place is a new steering wheel, dark interior fabrics (as shown at the Auto Expo), a panoramic sunroof etc.

Skoda is expected to continue selling the Yeti with the same 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine in two variants: a 138 BHP & 250 Nm 6-speed MT variant with all-wheel drive and a 108 BHP & 320 Nm 5-speed MT variant with front wheel drive.

Chances of a dual clutch automatic transmission are unlikely, however, Skoda plans to test the waters by introducing the 1.4L TSI petrol engine in the Yeti.
