Skoda Auto India has announced that it will reveal the full pricing details for all variants of its new compact SUV, the Kylaq, on December 2, 2024. Skoda revealed the starting price of the Kylaq at INR 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a competitive player in the subcompact SUV segment.
Variant Details
The Kylaq will be available in four trims: Classic, Signature, Signature Plus, and Prestige. Each trim will offer a range of features and specifications designed to cater to different customer preferences. The Classic trim is expected to be the most affordable, while the Prestige trim will likely come with the highest level of luxury and technology features.
Features and Specifications
The Kylaq is built on Skoda’s MQB-A0-IN platform and measures less than four meters in length, making it city-friendly. It features a bold upright butterfly grille, slim LED daytime running lights, and a layered headlight design. The side profile showcases crisp character lines, squared-off wheel arches, and dual-tone alloy wheels on higher trims.
Inside, the Kylaq offers a cabin inspired by the larger Kushaq, with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver display, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a six-speaker Canton sound system. Premium trims come with power-adjustable and ventilated front seats, a sunroof, and ambient lighting.
Kylaq Powertrain and Performance
The Kylaq is powered by a 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a standard 6-speed manual transmission or an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic. The SUV boasts a claimed 0-100 km/h time of approximately 10.5 seconds.
Safety and Comfort
Safety is a priority for Skoda, and the Kylaq comes equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and a reverse parking camera with sensors. Since it is based on the same platform as the Kushaq, it will most likely have a 5-star safety rating. The SUV also offers a spacious cabin with a 446-litre boot capacity, expanding to 1,265 litres with the seats down.
Kylaq Booking and Delivery
Skoda will begin accepting bookings for the Kylaq on December 2, 2024, with deliveries scheduled to commence from January 27, 2025.
