Skoda has updated the features list of the 2022 Octavia and Superb. The addition includes a mix of both newly added features and new colour shades. The 2022 Skoda Octavia now gets an anti-theft alarm with interior monitoring as standard. And hence both the Style and L&K trim will get this feature. In terms of colour shade, the sedan is now available in 5 shades. These are Candy White, Magic Black, Lava Blue, Brilliant Silver and the new Graphite Grey shade. Skoda has now included the Suedia beige leather upholstery for both variants.
Meanwhile, for the Superb, Skoda has added Cognac leather and driver seat with massage function. This new function will only come with the L&K trim. Meanwhile, the SportLine trim now gets the Black Alcantara interior. Superb also gets two new colour options – Graphite Grey and Brilliant Silver. Hence the sedan now has a total of seven colour options. And the other five are – Moon White, Lava Blue, Magic Black, Race Blue and Steel Grey. Apart from this, there’s no other change both in terms of mechanicals as well as aesthetics.
Octavia is quite a familiar nameplate to the Indian automotive market. Driving the sedan has been on the bucket list of almost all car enthusiasts. In fact, Octavia was the first Skoda to enter India and took the market by storm. The dynamic exterior profile matched with the sheer driving dynamics, connected with the Indians perfectly. But this was 21 years ago; fast forward to today, Octavia still retains some of its genes and continues to drive a healthy number of customers to the showrooms.
The 2022 Superb continues with the Volkswagen Group’s 2.0-litre turbo petrol mated to a 7-speed DSG. The power output stands at 190 HP and 320 Nm. Unlike the previous generation, we are yet to see the RS version of the fourth generation Octavia on our shores. However, there are rumours that Skoda is planning to introduce the performance spec trim sometime next year. Octavia RS gets substantial mechanical changes over the stock trim, making it a dream car for tuners and performance enthusiasts.
