Skoda & Volkswagen announce 2nd edition of ‘i-mobilothon’

One of the three agile business innovation hubs for Skoda Auto globally, Skoda Auto DigiLab India, has today announced the second edition of ‘i-mobilothon’. This is in collaboration with Volkswagen Group Technology Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. (formerly Volkswagen IT Services). Under this contest, it offers an inclusive, agile, and multi-disciplinary launch pad for creative minds and code developers of India. This will also help to leverage their skills in building prototypes that drive real business impact at scale.

The i-mobilothon is open to start-ups, university students across India, as well as current employees of Volkswagen Group companies in India. Participants can also develop and design prototypes that resonate with future car connectivity. This will further help in enhancing customer experience, business digitization, and pre-sales and post-sales solutions. Given the advent of techs like artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and data analytics, this is the perfect platform to showcase talent. Innovation has also been a key part of the VW-Skoda Group. Thus with this contest, the group will strive to foster this spirit.

IT Solutions An Important Part Of The Auto Industry

Last year also they received some great ideas in the inaugural edition of i-mobilothon. Now with the second edition, they are anticipating participation and innovation. Events like this prove the spirit of innovation that will help take the Indian automobile industry to greater heights. VWITS is the Group’s Strategic Internal IT Solutions partner, which is keenly focused on creating additional business value for the VW Group. Currently, a lot is happening under the hood. They have developed solutions in various technologies like AI/ML, Web 3.0 and Metaverse, etc. Furthermore, they have also collaborated with innovative start-ups and strong technology talent available in Indian universities. They will cater to their mission of Innovation with Technology.

Hackathon Details

The hackathon will start on 13 September 2022, while the last date for submission of entries is 14 October 2022. This year’s edition will conclude in November 2022, which will include two evaluation levels and the final prototype demo. The eleven-week-long hackathon will happen in hybrid mode in two stages, the inauguration and the final POC (Proof of Concept) presentations. The Group will organize a grand event wherein they will announce the winners. Participant registration, mentoring, and shortlisting of the final participants will happen via online mode.
