Skoda India has broken all records with its sales figure for June 2022. The company posted a total sales of 6,023 cars for the given period. In terms of year-over-year growth, Skoda posted growth of 721 per cent. The brand sold 6,023 units in June 2022, compared to 734 units last year. All in all, Skoda Auto has already crossed the annual sales of 23,858 units in 2021, with 28,899 units already sold in H1 2022. With this trend, Skoda is on track to register 2022 as the biggest year for sales in India.
India 2.0 Project Has Been Spot On
The introduction of two new blockbuster products in the form of the Slavia and Kushaq was the key. Both Slavia and Kushaq have received positive feedback from customers and reviewers alike. The sales figures are a testimony of the same. However, the current ongoing semiconductor shortage and the global pandemic are somewhat limiting the production capacity. Yet, Skoda India’s sales charts have broken all records. There is an increasing demand for SUVs in India, and the Kushaq offers a complete overall package. Skoda being a brand of enthusiasts, the Kushaq does resonate well with those looking for a fun-to-drive mid-size SUV.
Skoda India’s Expansion Drive
To keep up with the growing demand, Skoda Auto India is rapidly expanding its presence in the country. Last month only, the company hit 205+ customer touchpoints from 175 in December 2021. This is a very positive indicator and proves the carmaker’s dedication to the Indian market. Not just the Kushaq and Slavia, the carmaker’s other titles on sales too are creating much impact. The Octavia, the manufacturer’s oldest nameplate and one of India’s longest-running cars in continuous production, recently crossed the 1 lakh mark. The popularity of Kodiaq is so high that the SUV is already sold out for the entire year.
