Skoda India releases its sales report for July 2021. The company mentioned that it registered a staggering 234 per cent rise in sales when compared to the July 2020 figure. This is partly due to the below-par sales in July 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. And, the newly launched Kushaq is also attracting massive attention which is reflected via its sales figure. In numbers, Skoda sold a total of 3,080 cars in July 2021, meanwhile, the figure for July 2020 stood at 922 cars. When compared to June 2021 sales figure, which stood at 734 units, Skoda registered a month-over-month growth of 320 per cent. Along with this, Skoda mentioned that its other products, Rapid, Octavia and Superb are also building up decent sales figures.
With the launch of Kushaq, Skoda India puts its ‘India 2.0’ strategy into working mode. And as it stands, this strategy seems to be working from the get-go. Kushaq has indeed created a lot of buzz in the market and customers are also reacting positively, as evident from the demand. Kushaq, which is underpinned by the new MQB-A0-IN platform, developed especially for the Indian market will pave way for more products that are lined up. Reports suggest that Skoda is looking to launch a sedan in the market, which will probably replace the ageing Rapid. Though, nothing is official as of yet. As of now, Kushaq has received a total of 6,000 bookings, which is quite remarkable.
To garner more sales, it is necessary to have touchpoints across the major cities and towns in the country. Keeping that in mind, Skoda has promised to have its presence in more than 100+ cities by August 2021. The company mentioned that it has received 200+ dealership application partners who want to be a part of this growth. This suggests that everyone is pretty much impressed by the Skoda plans for India. And we are really excited to see what we else to get see from Skoda India.
