Skoda has unveiled the new Kodiaq RS, a high-performance variant of its popular three-row SUV. The Kodiaq RS is designed to offer enhanced power, sportier styling, and advanced features, making it a strong contender in the performance SUV segment.
The Kodiaq RS is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine, producing 261 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, allowing for a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 231 km/h.
Visually, the Kodiaq RS stands out with its sportier design. It features gloss black accents on the grille frame, ORVMs, window frames, roof rails, and D-pillar. The new front bumper and illuminated grille add to its aggressive appearance. The SUV rides on 20-inch ‘Elias’ alloy wheels with red brake calipers.
Inside, the Kodiaq RS sports an all-black theme with contrast red stitching. The cabin is available in two trims: RS Suedia with Suedia microfibre and leatherette seats, and RS Suite with full leather seats. A 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10-inch digital instrument console are standard, providing modern connectivity and convenience.
The Kodiaq RS comes with adaptive dampers and multiple suspension settings, including Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual, and Snow modes. An Off-Road mode is also available for adventurous drives.
Skoda plans to launch the Kodiaq RS globally, with the Indian market expected to see the new model by mid-2025. The current price of the existing Kodiaq model in India is INR 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom), and the Kodiaq RS is anticipated to be priced higher due to its enhanced features and performance. We can expect a price tag of INR 45 to 50 lakh. It will go up against the Toyota Fortuner and Volkswagen Tiguan.
