Skoda reveals exterior design sketch of Vision IN ‘A0 SUV’ for India

Skoda has revealed the exterior design sketch of the Vision IN which will be a new SUV to be revealed next month at the Auto Expo in India. This 4.26 metre long SUV which is also dubbed as the ‘A0 SUV’ will be making a global debut in the coming weeks, and the brand had already showcased interior sketches a few days back. This would be an all-new product from Skoda for the Indian market after a long time, and this is going to be a global model. The production for this mid-size SUV will begin in 2020-21

The sketch of the concept reveals very bold styling, and it looks much sharper than the SUV sibling, Kodiaq which is already on sale. One can notice a strong and bulging out front grille with multiple chrome slats and chrome surround, new Skoda logo, smoked headlamp with twin pot setup, high mounted fog lamp, sporty front bumper with massive air intakes and skid plate effect, large alloy wheels, healthy dose of body cladding, typical Skoda styled LED tail lamps, Skoda lettering on the tail gate, rear skid plate, roof rails, boot mounted spoiler, strong crease lines on the side profile, chrome accents around the DLO, etc. With the wide bonnet design, the new Skoda A0 SUV will introduce the new Skoda design language in India. Also, the Skoda lettering at the back might be illuminated.

Skoda is heading the projects for cars to be launched in India not just for themselves, but even for Volkswagen. The brand has loalised the MQB A0 IN chassis which will be used for the first time in the Vision IN ‘A0 SUV’ and will later be shared with other cars to be launched.

Going by the parent groups strategy, seems like Skoda will first launch this new SUV only with a TSI petrol motor, which could be shared with the Octavia and of course will be BS6 compliant. More details will be revealed at the Auto Expo 2020 to be held in New Delhi. To clear the air, this new SUV is going to be a 5-seater model.
