Skoda reveals Elroq electric SUV as Karoq replacement

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

The future of Skoda, especially in the electric segment, looks quite promising. The carmaker has unveiled a fresh all-electric SUV, named Elroq. This will eventually replace Karoq in the overseas market. This new SUV will become Skoda’s second-born EV. Then as we know Skoda will bring in four more EVs globally by 2026.

Skoda Elroq First SUV To Carry Skoda’s Modern Solid Design Language

With the Elroq we see Skoda’s all-new and rugged design language. We will get to witness the modern solid design language on the Elroq. In fact, this is the first SUV to get this styling theme. This includes a more rugged front end, aka Tech Deck, and large skid plates front and rear. It also benefits from squared-off arches and a raised 4×4 type profile.

Skoda Elroq Is Skoda’s Entry-Level EV SUV Overseas

With the Elroq, Skoda will enter the hugely competitive – and growing – electric compact SUV segment. It will take on the likes of the Jeep Avenger, Mini Aceman and Ford Explorer EV that we saw recently.

Skoda Elroq Powertrain Expectations

The SUV will most likely come with a 77kWh battery. This comes with a certified range of around 480 km in its most efficient guise. Skoda also has plans to launch a new 86kWh battery in its EVs next year. This will begin with the Enyaq. Then it could also make its way into the Elroq thus giving it a range of more than 595 km.

Like the Enyaq, the MEB-based SUV comes with several power outputs. Of which the most powerful potentially being the vRS nameplate. We expect this version to get a dual-motor set-up with around 300hp. After the Elroq in Skoda’s new-look EV offering, we will get to see EUR 22,000 entry-level compact urban crossover in 2025. Then in 2026, Skoda might introduce an Octavia-sized electric estate and a production version of the Vision 7S MPV concept. Facelifts of the Enyaq iV SUV and coupe also have also been confirmed for 2024.
