Finally, the Skoda Rapid Matte Limited Edition is here. Skoda has now officially launched this special edition for the Indian market. For the convenience of the customers, Skoda is offering this edition in both manual and automatic transmission. The sticker price is set at INR 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the manual trim. Meanwhile, the automatic trim comes at a premium and hence costs INR 13,49,000 (ex-showroom).
This is also the first car in its segment to get a matte treatment. Rapid has always been a much-demanded car, especially in the enthusiast’s crowd. With more than 1 lakh customers, Rapid is the most successful Skoda in India. And with the introduction of this matte edition, Skoda will indeed find more customers flocking into their showrooms.
How Does It Look?
Exteriors
For starters, the car gets an updated black radiator grille that matches perfectly with the newly added lip spoilers. In the rear, the addition of the diffuser and a tailgate spoiler add to the excitement. Furthermore, the Rapid Matte Edition also gets black body side moulding, thus enhancing the sporty outlook. The alloys finished in black complements the overall exterior look and make it a head-turner for sure.
Interiors
In the interiors, matching the exterior outlook, Skoda is using a dual-tone grey colour shade. The use of premium black leatherette upholstery with Alcantara inserts will keep the occupants wanting for more. Driver aids include a rearview camera integrated with the 16.51 cm Drive, Audio Player.
Safety
In the safety department, being a Skoda, there’s no compromise. Skoda mentioned that they are using a more powerful performance bulb for the Rapid Matte Edition. Thus enhancing the nighttime visibility. The Matte Edition gets all the essential safety features, same as the regular trim. This includes dual airbags, anti-lock braking, anti-glare interior rearview mirror, rear parking sensors, rear windscreen defogger with timer, height-adjustable three-point seatbelts at the front, rough road package and engine immobilizer with a floating code system.
