According to reports, Skoda will be replacing the wheel bearings on the much-popular Skoda Kushaq in the Indian market. Sources report that the Czech manufacturer will replace the wheel bearings on the Kushaq under warranty. The replacement for the wheel bearings are for select Skoda Kushaq SUV only. Reports suggest that only vehicles with select VIN are eligible for the replacement. However, Skoda has not yet revealed the VIN data entitled for the replacement. But, customers also have an option to call on – 1800 123 090 909 and check if their vehicle is under the recall. Eligible vehicles will be routed to the CRM of the respective dealership.
The Skoda Kushaq has also recalled the SUV in the past for a faulty fuel pump with Electronic Power Control (EPC) error. The error could lead to problems with the accelerator pedal, cruise control or traction control system. The brand has already replaced the faulty part with a new robust unit on the production line. In the past, Skoda replaced the faulty part with a corrected one free of cost to the customer. The recall was announced after customers reported problems such as the engine getting cut-off and power loss.
Recently, Skoda announced that the Style trim with 2 airbags on the Kushaq could be soon discontinued. The brand will now offer 6-airbag safety on the Style variant, as confirmed on Twitter, by Zac Hollis, Director of Sales and Marketing, Skoda India. This will help mitigate injuries and deaths related to road accidents which have increased in the Indian market.
The Skoda Kushaq comes with three variants Active, Ambition and Style. The Active trim comes with a starting price of INR 10.99 lakh ex-showroom. In the Style variant, the Kushaq comes with a sticker price of INR 16.49 lakh ex-showroom. The automatic variants of the Kushaq start with the Ambition trim, which comes with a sticker price of INR 14.19 lakh ex-showroom. In its Style trim, the automatic transmission Kushaq comes with a price tag of INR 18.19 lakh ex-showroom.
