Skoda is planning to launch a new safety update on the Skoda Kushaq. According to reports, the Skoda Kushaq will come with new safety updates on the top-of-the-line Style model. Reportedly, the Skoda Kushaq Style with the Manual Transmission will now come with 6-airbags and TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System). However, the pricier Automatic Transmission versions do not get the update. In this safety update, the Kushaq Style will come with additional side and curtain airbags. The model is likely to launch in the coming weeks.
The top-spec Style trim of Skoda’s mid-size SUV Kushaq will come with 6-airbags and TPMS. The brand has added the safety feature on the manual transmission option but not the automatic versions. The company could have omitted the features on the automatic transmission options to keep the prices in check and better compete in the hotly contested segment.
The Skoda Kushaq Active and Ambition versions continue to feature dual front airbags. All variants also feature Electronic Stability Control as standard. The SUV also comes with Rollover Protection and Multi Collision Braking (MKB). The Kushaq also features HBV (Hydraulic brake-boosting), BSW (Brake disc wiping), ABS, Hill Start Assist, EDS with XDS & XDS + (Electronic differential lock – advanced differential lock) as standard.
Powering the Skoda Kushaq is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine and an optional 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The TSI family engine from the Volkswagen Group boasts of being both powerful and efficient. The 1.0-litre engine produces 115 PS of power and 175 Nm of torque capable of propelling the SUV to a claimed top speed of 186 kmph.
While the 1.5-litre engine makes 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque that can propel the Kushaq to a top speed of 190 kmph. The Kushaq with the 1.5-litre engine is also able to sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 8.6 seconds. The 1.0-litre engine comes with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. At the same time, the 1.5-litre engine comes with a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox options.
The Skoda Kushaq comes with a 4-year/1,00,000 km warranty as standard. Customers can extend this warranty to 6-year/1,50,000 km. Skoda also offers a 6-year corrosion warranty, 3-year paint warranty, 2-year parts warranty, 2-year battery warranty, and extended roadside assistance programs for up to 9 years.
