Looking to get a Skoda Kushaq any time soon, this news article might interest you now. The Czech Republic carmaker has come up with the new Kushaq Onyx Edition. The price tag starts at INR 12.39 lakh, which is a good INR80,000 more than the base Active trim. The Onyx Edition positions itself between the Active and the mid-spec Ambition Classic trims. Currently, it is only available with the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol powertrain.

Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition Exterior And Interior

The biggest change for this Onyx Edition is the exteriors. The stylised grey graphics on the doors, and ‘Onyx’ badging on the B-Pillar add to the overlook. Apart from that, we also get a faux diffuser on the front bumper, and chrome surrounds on the front grille. There are also these 16-inch steel wheels with newly designed plastic covers.

Come inside and we see minor changes. There’s Onyx badging on the scuff plates and headrests. The interiors get a black and grey interior colour theme. The highlight is the two-spoke steering wheel and the chrome surrounds on the AC vents. We also get to see a textured pattern on the dashboard.

Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition Key Features On Offer

The Onyx Edition benefits from certain additional kits over the Kushaq’s base Ambition trim. This includes LED headlights, fog lamps, a rear wiper with a washer, a rear defogger, and automatic climate control with an air purifier. For your reference, the other important features of the SUV include a 7-inch touchscreen, a 6-speaker audio system and a height-adjustable driver’s seat.

As far as safety goes, the Kushaq Onyx Edition benefits from dual front airbags, ESP, and three-point seatbelts for all passengers. There’s also a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and ISOFIX anchorages. As we know, the Kushaq scored a full five-star rating under Global NCAP’s new protocol for crash tests.

Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition Powertrain Options

As we know, the Onyx Edition sits between the entry-level Active and mid-spec Ambition Classic trims. And hence this Onyx too is available only with the 115hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. And thus, an automatic transmission is not available just as of yet. But we believe and as per sources that a 6-speed torque converter automatic will come in the future.
