Skoda Kamiq SUV revealed, will come to India to rival Hyundai Creta

Skoda has officially revealed the upcoming Kamiq SUV in pictures. The Skoda Kamiq will make a debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show 2019 and a reworked version of the Kamiq is also expected to come to India. The Kamiq will be an SUV to rival the likes of Hyundai Creta.

Under the new strategy where Skoda & Volkswagen are working jointly developing new cars for India, the Kamiq could be the first car launch. Built around the India-specific MQB A0 IN platform, the Skoda Kamiq at least in concept guise could be displayed at the 2020 Auto Expo in India.

The Skoda Kamiq globally slots below the Karoq & Kodiaq SUVs. The brand claims that although an SUV, the Kamiq will drive and handle like a compact car.

The version of the Kamiq which is displayed measures 4,241mm in length and 2,651mm in wheelbase and 400L of boot space.

The Kamiq in international markets will get a 1.0L turbocharged petrol motor in two states of tune – 95 HP & 115 HP. The 1.5L turbo-petrol will produce 150 HP of power while the 1.6L turbo-diesel will produce 115 HP of power. Gearbox options will include the familiar 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG units. The Kamiq will be a Front-Wheel drive only SUV.
