Skoda Elroq EV SUV revealed, could come to India

The new Skoda Elroq has made its international debut becoming the brand’s first production all-electric EV to come with Modern Solid design. The Skoda Elroq is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB electric car platform. This makes the Elroq the company’s third electric model after the Enyaq and the Enyaq Coupe.

Size and Aerodynamics

The Skoda Elroq measures 4,488 mm in length and comes with a wheelbase of 2765mm. The SUV also features a low squat design with clean surfaces that aid to the aerodynamic efficiency of the car. The brand has revealed the Skoda Elroq has a low aerodynamic drag of just 0.26 Cd. This is also thanks to the active aero features that includes the active cooling vents as well as vertical air vents. The Elroq also comes with upto 21-inch alloys on higher-spec models.

Design & Features

The Tech Deck face includes Skoda’s signature butterfly grille design but in a sleek futuristic finish. The grille is flanked by LED headlamps with Matrix LEDs on the higher-spec variants. On the inside, the Elroq features a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and augmented heads up display for the driver. Skoda also revealed that the interiors of the Elroq have been made using ‘RecyTitan Fabric’ and made up of 78% recycled PET, 6% fibres from recycled clothing and TechnoFoil.

Powertrain, Battery & Range

Powering the Elroq are going to be a 55 kWh battery pack with a 168 Bhp motor that comes with 370 km on range. Additionally, the Elroq will also come with a 63 kWh battery with 201 Bhp motor and 400 km of range. The top spec model will come with an 82 kWh battery with 560 km of range.

While the brand has not revealed if it plans to bring the Elroq to the Indian market. Speculation is that the due to the demand of electric vehicles in India, the brand is likely to bring the Elroq in limited numbers.
