Skoda is set to unveil the new Octavia RS at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Show in January 2025. This marks a significant moment for the brand as it brings back the performance-oriented sedan to the Indian market.
The Octavia RS has a storied history in India. The RS 230 debuted in 2017, followed by the more powerful RS 245 at the Auto Expo 2020. Both models were well-received despite their limited availability. The fourth-generation Octavia RS aims to continue this legacy with even more advanced features and performance.
The new Octavia RS will be powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, producing 265 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque. It will come with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and a sporty design, including a blacked-out grille, larger air intakes, and vRS badges. The interior will feature red inserts, ambient lighting, and sports seats with red stitching. It will also feature a 13-inch Infotainment System equipped with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for seamless connectivity.
The Skoda Octavia has enjoyed considerable success in the Indian market since its launch. Known for its robust build quality, spacious interiors, and powerful performance, the Octavia has consistently been a favorite among sedan buyers. Over the years, it has garnered a loyal customer base and has been praised for its reliability and comfort. The Octavia RS, in particular, has been a standout model, offering sporty performance and advanced features that appeal to driving enthusiasts. Its combination of luxury and practicality has made it a popular choice for both personal and professional use in India.
Skoda has previously sold the Octavia RS in limited numbers as Completely Built Units (CBUs). The upcoming model is expected to follow the same approach, catering to enthusiasts who value performance and luxury. The car is likely to be priced around INR 50 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a premium offering in the market.
The launch of the Octavia RS at the Bharat Mobility Show is an exciting development for Skoda and its fans in India. With its powerful engine, sporty design, and premium features, the new Octavia RS is set to make a strong impression in the market.
