Skoda Auto India has posted its sales report for May 2022. The carmaker sold a total of 4,604 units for the given period. The sales growth is on the rise for Skoda India as the carmaker is riding on the success of its recently launched products. The semiconductor supply shortage is impacting production, but Skoda has taken the necessary steps to keep up with the momentum. Skoda is doing it all to reduce long waiting periods and make delivery of the cars faster.
Skoda India 2.0
With the recent few products, Skoda has completely upped its game in the market. Both the Slavia and Kushaq are now more India-specific in terms of features and customer-centric services. In addition to all these, Skoda is also expanding its dealership network. Furthermore, the carmaker had also made some radical changes to its showrooms bringing in First-in-India digitisation and interactive and immersive features for customers. These measures are a great addition to attract more customers to the showrooms and boost sales.
Skoda’s Compact SUV in Making
With the demand running high in the compact SUV segment, Skoda is all prepared to enter this cutthroat competitive segment. As we understand, the project is still at its initial stage. Thus Skoda has not revealed any details as of yet. Moreover, we do not even have any spy shots of the car. The new compact SUV will use the MQB-A0-IN platform. It will also have a lot of similarities with the Kushaq.
The sales figures for the compact SUVs suggest the demand will grow stronger in the coming years. Hence, Skoda is looking to leverage this with the launch of this compact SUV model. Being a Skoda, we expect the working project to have its core DNA of driving fun and solid build quality. We could see the SUV arrive on our shores sometime in 2025.
