There is no denying to the fact that electric vehicles are the future. Keeping that in mind, U.P Telelinks Limited has launched its Singham Li-ion electric rickshaw. This battery-powered rickshaw is priced at INR 1,85,000 and will be available across all U.P Telelinks Limited outlets.
The company claims a mileage of 100 km under a single charge. This electric rickshaw will be powered by a 1,500-watt motor which will come with a 3-year warranty. The other highlights features include LED lights, an advanced BMS, hydraulic 43-inch suspension at the rear, the brakes offered are lever-operated drum brakes in the front and rear is a foot-operated drum. The interiors are equipped with floor mats, cabin lights, comfortable seats, FM player with USB and SD card and an anti-theft alarm system.
U.P Telelinks claims that they have already received 300 pre-orders and the delivery is expected to start from 15th December 2020. To help buyers to finance this rickshaw the company has tied up with several private and public banking institutions. The buyers will also be eligible for a subsidy of INR 37,000 under the FAME II scheme offered by the government of India.
The New Singham Electric Rickshaw comes with a front glass with wiper, a spare wheel, alloy wheels and a hard spare wheel cover. The claimed mileage of 100 km per charge that translates to 30 paisa per kilometre which is about 20% savings. As far as the dimensions are concerned it measures, 2,575mm in length, 998mm in width, 1,740mm in height and the wheelbase measures 2,180mm.
The company has three cargo variants to offer; Flat Bed, delivery Van and Cargo Van. Meanwhile, there are other options in its lineup as well like Singham Deluxe, Singham Comfort and Singham Super to offer a wider range of choices to cater to the demand of a large range of audience. With the proliferation of electric vehicles in the near future, there would be high demand for battery-powered vehicles in the commercial segment as well.
