Simple Energy has built an advance thermal management system with IIT Indore

Simple Energy is one of the emerging two-wheeler EV manufacturers in the country that is investing heavily in this segment. The company has now announced its tie-up with IIT Indore to develop a novel composite material that will enhance thermal stability. This is a great initiative to enhance the R&D scope and collaboratively work together to make some impactful development. One of the risk areas concerned with the EV market is the thermal management of batteries. And these initiatives go a long way in proving Simple Energy’s dedication to overcoming the issues. The use of enhanced products will improve the safety, dependability, and lifespan of the battery modules. All in all, customers will get a much better product.

Simple One – A Brief Overview

The first electric scooter from Simple Energy was unveiled on 15th August this year. And the most striking feature of this scooter is its riding range. With the use of two batteries, Simple Energy claims that the scooter will have a riding range of 203 km. The equipped battery is a 4.8 kWh lithium-ion unit that can propel the scooter from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.95 seconds. To mix up the things, riders will also have four riding modes to choose from. These are Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic. Simple Energy mentioned that the charging time is 2.5 km per minute. Other key highlights include instrument cluster with navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, 30-litre storage space, all-LED lighting setup and more.

Given the rising demand for electric vehicles in the country, Simple energy aims to make the most out of it. And hence the company has laid down a plan to set up the world’s largest electric two-wheeler factory in Tamil Nadu. Planned to spread over 2 lakh square feet of area, this manufacturing unit will have a capacity to produce over 1 million electric units per annum. Along with this, Simple energy also aims to achieve 99 per cent localization. This will make the products eligible for the incentives under the FAME 2 scheme. As of now, in the first phase, Simple Energy will offer its services in 13 cities across the country. And going forward, more cities will be included.
