Separate sales network for Maruti LCVs

Maruti Suzuki will commence operations of its LCV range of products using a separate sales network. The first commercial vehicle, the Y9T pick-up is almost launch ready and will debut in early-2015.

Maruti believes that the requirements of a passenger car customer and that of a LCV customer are different, and hence, separate dealerships will be set up. Chances are, Maruti could launch the new commercial vehicle regionally, rather than an all-India launch.

The Y9T will be available with a diesel and petrol + CNG fuel options.

Developed on the Suzuki Carry platform, this product is already sold in markets such as China, Indonesia and Pakistan. Production will begin at the existing facility in Haryana.

Maruti might also approach their existing passenger car dealers to set up a commercial vehicle dealership.
