Interesting news coming in from the IT capital of this country. Rapido, an Indian bike taxi aggregator and logistics service provider add to its rider safety. The company is achieving so by implementing a four-step background verification process for its drivers. In addition to this, it will also use a unique information-masking feature. This will ensure the protection of the privacy and identity of women riders.
Rapido Auto has also added several safety measures to ensure safe travel for riders and passengers. These will include mandatory safety training for riders and regular vehicle maintenance checks. There’s also real-time tracking of rides to monitor safety compliance.
Rapido Auto has also hosted a slew of safety awareness programs. This comes in collaboration with city traffic police departments across India. Furthermore, These initiatives also involved CPR and basic life support training for their captains. There was also a mime program to demonstrate the criticality of road safety. This was for heavy traffic junctions in cities such as Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Vijayawada, and Madurai.
Rapdio and other ride aggregators recently come under the scanner of various state governments. This was over the commission issues. In fact, in January, the Bombay High Court directed Rapido to stall its bike-taxi service. This was when it was discovered that Rapido didn’t have a license to operate its services.
Delhi Transport Department too in February, issued a public notice to the companies to put a halt to their bike taxi services effective immediately over safety and license issues. With more safety concerns and facilities coming in customers are the winners here. These features will help the customers to ride safely without any compromise on any front concerned with road safety. With more strict directives coming in, these ride aggregators are bound to follow them thus enhancing the safety factor by leaps and bounds.
