Rumours are doing the rounds that BMW Motorrad has opened bookings for their cheapest motorcycles, the G 310 R & G 310 GS here in India. These bikes which are Made-in-India by TVS Motor are all set for a debut sometime in 2018, but the brand has not made any official statement yet about bookings being opened. Dealers also have not revealed clearly, but suggest that the launch could happen soon.
It is being said that both bikes will be launched under INR 3.5 lakh, on-road. The G 310 R variant will obviously be cheaper than the G 310 GS motorcycle which is an adventure tourer. While many publications are quoting booking amounts, we will wait for the official communication to be shared from BMW Motorrad. Deliveries are being said to being from Q3 of 2018.
BMW Motorrad has been officially showcasing the G 310 R & G 310 GS in India at the Auto Expo. Also, there is a lot of positive sentiment around these products as they will make the BMW brand very affordable. Both these bikes are designed by BMW in Germany, but manufactured by TVS Motors here in India.
Powering the BMW G 310 R & G 310 GS will be a reverse-placed, 313cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor producing 34 HP of power and 28 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox. For the restless, check out the TVS Apache RR 310 for how the engine feels, although the ECU used on this bike is by TVS.
BMW Motorrad has delayed the launch of the G 310 R & G 310 GS multiple times. Hopefully, this time, things are on track for a 2018 release and potential customers can finally get their hands on these German motorcycles Made-in-India.
