2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga leaks ahead of debut

Written by Parichay Malvankar

Images have leaked online of the new-generation Ertiga MPV which is yet to make any sort of a global appearance. These images have come out from Indonesia, where it is expected that the Ertiga will be launched first. The new Ertiga has been testing on Indian soil extensively, and will be launched in India in 2018 itself.

As per the new design, the 2018 Ertiga reveals a complete makeover to the front, which has a little resemblance to the Toyota Innova Crysta. You now have a projector headlamp setup, sporty bumpers, new front grille, bold bonnet crease lines, prominent shoulder lines, new LED tail lamp, revised tail gate section, multi-spoke alloy wheels. The 3rd row glass section is also reprofiled to mingle with the rear windshield. Also, on the inside, there will be a dual tone dashboard completely different compared to any other Maruti Suzuki model. The Ertiga will continue with the 7-seat layout.

Abroad, the 2018 Ertiga is coming with a 1.5L VVT petrol motor producing 104.7 PS of power and 138 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine is rumoured to come on the Indian-spec Ertiga as well, and even the Ciaz could get it. Maruti Suzuki already has the 1.3L DDiS diesel engine, but it is being said that a bigger diesel motor would also make it to the new Ertiga & Ciaz.

There could be subtle changes compared to what we see here on the Indonesian Ertiga model. But more or less, we now know what to expect, or on what lines…
