Royal Enfield Twins become UK’s best-selling motorcycles in June 2020

The UK motorcycling industry has seen a surge in sales of Royal Enfield motorcycles especially the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 in the UK market. According to a media report, the brand has sold more units of the twin-cylinder motorcycle than the popular Honda PCX 125 scooter which earlier topped the charts in the UK. The surge in the sale is speculated to be due to the new of normal social distancing where people are avoiding the use of public transport and are opting for two-wheelers.

The brand is being reported to have sold 196 units of the Interceptor 650 in June which is not only more than the Honda PCX 125 but also the BMW R1250GS which sold 188 units in the same period. The Royal Enfield Twins are also GBP 3,000 cheaper than the Triumph Street Twin which comes in a similar modern-classic design theme but the Triumph is regarded as a luxury purchase.
