Biking enthusiasts can finally rejoice! Royal Enfield has finally unveiled the Super Meteor 650 at the ongoing EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. The flagship bike will be positioned above the Continental GT 650. It is said that the dealership training has commenced and we can expect the launch of the bike in India very soon. Royal Enfield will offer the bike in two variants – The Super Meteor 650 and Super Meteor 650 Tourer. Royal Enfield is positioning the Super Meteor 650 as a highway cruiser motorcycle.
Here is a video montage of the bike which shows all its colours and accessories:
In terms of colours, Royal Enfield will offer the solo tourer in five colours – Astral green, Astral Black, Astral Blue, Interstellar Grey and Interstellar Green. The Super Meteor 650 Tourer will be offered in two colour options – Celestial Blue and Celestial Red.
The Super Meteor 650 comes with the same engine from the Interceptor 650. That said, the head and the side panels are now finished in matte black. The 648cc, twin-cylinder, oil-cooled engine is rated at 47 PS @ 7,250 rpm and a peak torque of 52 Nm @ 5,650 rpm. The engine is both Euro 5 & BS6 emissions compliant. One of the unique points of this bike is that it gets upside down front shock absorbers.
To help individualise the bikes, Royal Enfield has also released a set of genuine accessories for the Super Meteor. Some of these include bar end mirrors, deluxe foot peg, solo finisher, LED indicators and machined wheels, deluxe touring dual-seat, touring windscreen, passenger backrest, deluxe foot pegs, long haul panniers, touring handlebar and LED indicators.
In terms of its launch in India, it is expected that Royal Enfield will launch the bike at the upcoming Rider Mania in November later this year. While official prices have not yet been revealed, we can expect the bike to be priced around INR 3,50,000 to INR 4,00,000.
