Royal Enfield has unveiled the Scram 440, the successor to the Scram 411, at the Motoverse 2024 event in Goa. The new model is set to launch in January 2025, bringing several upgrades and enhancements to the Scram 411.
Key Features and Specifications
The Scram 440 is powered by a 443cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, which produces 25.4 bhp at 6,250 rpm and 34 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. This marks an increase in power and torque compared to the Scram 411. The engine has been bored down by 3mm to achieve the additional power. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, providing improved performance and rideability.
The bike will be available in two variants: Trail and Force. The Trail variant features spoked wheels and tube-type tyres, while the Force variant comes with alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. Both variants will have a 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel setup.
Scram 440 Design and Technology
Visually, the motorcycle retains the rugged and adventurous styling of its predecessor but introduces new color options such as Trail Green, Trail Blue, Force Blue, Force Grey, and Force Teal. The motorcycle also features a new LED headlight, switchable ABS, and a semi-digital instrument cluster.
Market Position and Competition
The Scram 440 is expected to compete with other adventure and scrambler motorcycles in the market, such as the Yezdi Scrambler, Triumph Scrambler 400X and Honda CB350RS. With its upgraded engine, improved features, and versatile design, Royal Enfield aims to attract adventure enthusiasts looking for a robust and stylish ride.
Scram 440 Launch Timeline and Pricing
The Scram 440 will likely be launched at the Bharat Mobility Expo in January 2025 along with more RE products. The Scram 411 is priced at INR 2.3 lakh currently and we expect the 440 to be priced higher. Given the upgrades, expect the price to cross the INR 2.5 lakh mark.
