Royal Enfield launches Streetwind Eco sustainable riding jacket

Royal Enfield has launched a new riding jacket. The Streetwind Eco Riding Jacket is the first sustainable jacket when it comes to the riding gear segment. The aim of this is to promote the cycle of reusability to ensure greater environmental sustainability.

Details about the Streetwind Eco jacket

The jacket consists of reused 75 plastic pet bottles. It also uses recycled polyester shell fabric, recycled polyester mesh fabric and recycled nylon Cordura.

The jacket can be used in the city and comes with a 90% ventilated mesh to aid comfort. Overall, it is lightweight and offers good packability when on the go.

Royal Enfield says they have repurposed over 412,000 plastic bottles to create over 5,400 eco conscious jackets. Furthermore, Royal Enfield plans to reduce CO2 emissions by 14 tons and also avoid 2 cubic meters of plastic waste from going into the landfills. The bike maker has also implemented a zero-liquid discharge by usage of efficient water recycling.

Features on the Streetwind Eco jacket consist of Ergo Pro Tech CE level 2 armour, which offers good ergonomics and precision. It is rated at CE 2 standards in different conditions like ambient, wet, hot, and cold temperatures. Meanwhile, the shoulder and elbow armours offer a snug fit ensuring a smooth movement of the joints. The jacket also comes with multiple vents for breathability.
